Overview of LiFePO4 Battery Charger
The power battery pattern has changed again. Lifepo4 (LFP) battery sales have surged, and ternary battery shipments have gradually been overtaken by LFP batteries.
According to data released by the China Automotive Power Battery Innovation Alliance, in September 2021, China's power battery sales totaled 23.2GWh, a year-on-year increase of 168.9%; of which ternary battery output was 9.6GWh, a year-on-year increase of 102.6%; LFP battery output 13 .5GWh, a year-on-year increase of 252%, far exceeding the growth rate of ternary batteries. It is worth noting that September was the fifth consecutive month that the output of LFP batteries exceeded that of ternary batteries. In the first nine months of this year, the total output of LFP batteries was 71.6GWh, a year-on-year increase of 291.4%, while the output of ternary batteries in the same period was 62.8GWh, an increase of only 131.1% year-on-year. Obviously, LFP batteries have surpassed ternary batteries in both battery production and shipment growth. If the current trend continues, LFP will surpass ternary batteries again in 2022 to become the power battery category with the largest shipments. The rapid recovery of LFP batteries, the ternary battery is no longer the standard answer for the positive electrode of lithium batteries? So what is the development trend of lithium batteries in the future?
LFP batteries and general lithium batteries are both green and environmentally friendly batteries, but the biggest difference between the two is that LFP batteries have no safety concerns such as overheating or explosion, and the battery cycle life is about 4~5 times that of lithium batteries, which is higher than that of lithium batteries. The battery has 8~10 times higher discharge power (can generate large current instantly), plus the overall weight under the same energy density, which is about 30~50% less than that of lithium battery. Therefore, due to the importance of military, automobile, battery and other fields related to electric energy, lithium battery factories have invested in the production of this new type of power lithium battery, and the target market is electric bicycles and electric buses.
