Which one is better, prismatic or cylindrical?
Although this is a group of 18650 cells, perhaps most people would think a cylindrical cell would be better. But in fact, there are advantages and disadvantages between prismatic and cylindrical batteries, and these differences will cause your equipment to develop in different directions.
Take the LiFePO4 battery as an example:
Prismatic batteries are better than cylindrical batteries in terms of space utilization, weight, energy density, battery system scalability, and stability, which are determined by the prismatic shape and internal stacking.
The cylindrical battery will have more advantages in terms of manufacturing cost, damage cost, chemical properties, and heat dissipation, mainly because the cylindrical battery has been developed for a longer time and has more technical support.
Choosing the most suitable battery shape for you can often save you a lot of unnecessary expenses and a lot of trouble.
